Kevin James stars as affable delivery man Doug Heffernan with Leah Remini as his spitfire wife, and Jerry Stiller as her father, an eccentric curmudgeon who lives in the basement. For nine seasons and 207 episodes, the two held it together for better or worse, for richer for poorer, squabbling but loving each other through it all. They are joined, among others, by Victor Williams as his best pal Deacon, Patton Oswalt as nerd friend Spence, Larry Romano as friend Richie and Gary Valentine (Kevin James’ real life brother) as cousin Danny Heffernan. The show was conceived in part as a modern version of “The Honeymooners” and in one classic dream sequence, the show pays homage to that show with a black-and-white sequence with Doug as Ralph, Carrie as Trixie and Deacon as Ed Norton.
